About the Teacher
Mrs. Israel was born and raised in Baltimore, Md. After trying both the piano and viola in elementary school, she eventually settled on the clarinet in 6th grade which led her to audition and attend the Baltimore School for Arts for high school. Mrs. Israel holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park in Music Education and Clarinet Performance as well as a Master’s of Music Education from Boston University. Mrs. Israel is currently the band and strings director at George Cromwell and Brooklyn Park Elementary schools. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her two pet bunny rabbits and playing hockey. This is her 14th year teaching instrumental music.
About Instrumental Music Class
Instrumental Music lessons are free!
Lessons will start the WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 15TH, 2023.
We will have two, 30 minute lessons per week (schedule rotates so students never miss much of any academic or cultural arts class)
Students will be grouped by instrument or playing experience (i.e. 3rd Grade Violins or 5th Grade Band). It’s best to stick with the same instrument from 4th to 5th grade.
A schedule will be provided 1 week before the start of our first lessons.
THIRD GRADE students may choose to play a string instrument only: violin, viola, cello, or bass.
4th and 5th grade students may choose from all string and band instruments listed on this website.
I have instruments for students to borrow! If you are able to rent your child an instrument, awesome and thank you! That helps me out and a child in need.
While I don’t have an instrument for every single student to borrow (I do rely on some families to rent), I usually can accommodate those in need.
Never hesitate to contact Mrs. Israel (see Contact at the top of the page)
